Source: 10/20/2018

Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar met with a delegation from Nestlé NEAR (North East Africa Region), led by Chairman and CEO Moataz al-Hout, where they explored the company’s current projects and future expansions in the Egyptian market.

The meeting also discussed Nestlé’s new coffee factory, to be inaugurated in January, which will have 8 production lines and would contribute to a boost in Egyptian exports.

“Egypt offers great investment opportunities in the manufacturing sector, especially food industries,” Nassar said. “We seek to be an industrial and export hub for the MENA markets.”

Al-Hout, for his part, pointed out that the company has injected a worth of one billion Egyptian pounds in new investments in Egypt over the past five years, noting that it will start exporting its products in the coming period to a number of countries in North East Africa, including Morocco.

Nestlé has been present in Egypt for some 150 years and currently operates three factories, providing direct employment to almost 3,000 people and indirect jobs to 1,500 ones. Nestlé NEAR regroups three countries: Egypt, Libya and Sudan; andis headquartered in Cairo.
