Source: 7/10/2018

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Sinai development tops the State's agenda in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives on developing Sinai given that eliminating terrorism wouldn't be completely achieved except for a comprehensive development.

This came during the premier's meeting with a delegation of the World Bank (WB) to take advantage of the WB expertise in setting a program for Sinai development, in the presence of Investment Minister Sahar Nasr.

Sinai development should be implemented through a comprehensive program to meet the needs of the peninsula's residents with their different economic activities and create new job opportunities for them based on the resources there, Madbouli pointed out.

The program is being developed to be consistent with Egypt's Vision 2030, a matter which effectively fight terrorism, the premier added.

He urged for quickly developing detailed studies on the program, pointing out that talks with the WB on implementing the program within the coming period to be continued.

Meanwhile, the delegation said that the WB is looking forward to further cooperating with Egypt in various fields, expressing their hope for developing the program's strategy in line with the development needs in Sinai.

The program targets creating an industrial renaissance in the peninsula by luring more investments and integrating its people into the program, the WB officials added.
