President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will give the go-ahead for the first stage of the New El Alamein eco-city in Marsa Matrouh governorate and open a number of other projects via video conference, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi announced.
In statements to a Radio station, Radi said the new fully-equipped city is one of the "fourth generation" of new cities, which are being built according to the world’s latest architectural designs.
It will include universities, schools and other services, in addition to different tourist and entertainment activities, he added.
Sisi is scheduled to inspect the 14-kilometer-long tourist walkway, which is being established in the New El Alamein City, Radi noted.
Also, President Sisi is slated to open a number of other projects via video conference, including East Port Said city, El Salam city, New El Mansoura City and New Rafah City, Radi said.
The president is to open the first museum, which contains 1,000 artifacts depicting the different eras of Matrouh governorate, Radi unveiled.
The New El Alamein eco-city includes a world-class entertainment city comparable to Disneyland, Radi said.
It will stretch over an area of 48,000 feddans, at a total cost of two billion pounds.
