Egypt: Petroleum Minister Discussed With Ukrainian Ambassador Cooperation in Oil, Gas Exploration

Petroleum Minister Tareq el Molla discussed with Ukrainian Ambassador in Cairo Hennadii Latii and Deputy Chairman of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, CFO Sergiy Konovets means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the oil, gas, mineral resources.

In a statement the minister said that he reviewed with them investment opportunities available in the petroleum sector.

They also discussed means of benefiting from the Ukrainian in-house expertise in the fields of mineral resources exploration and production.

The minister also posted Latii and Konovets on steps taken by the Egyptian government to attract more investments, citing the issuance of a new law regulating mineral resources in Egypt.

For his part, the Ukrainian diplomat expressed his country's keenness on increasing investments in Egypt in the oil and gas exploration and mining.

Naftogaz of Ukraine is the national oil and gas company of Ukraine. It is a state-owned company subordinated to the Government of Ukraine.

It is involved with extraction, transportation, and refinement of natural gas and crude oil.

Meanwhile, Molla had talks with Mexican Ambassador in Cairo Jose Octavio on investment opportunities in Egypt in oil and gas fields.

Amb. Octavio voiced his country's keenness on strengthening cooperation with Cairo in the oil and gas domains in light of Mexico's long experience in these fields.
